After a rough six hour bus ride from Phnom Penh we have ended up at an eco lodge in the remote Tatai river area near the Thai border. We tried not to complain about the bus ride given that a lot of passengers were riding on the floor and at least we had seats...This is the ultimate escape of Khmer style huts floating on the river with boatloads of Buddhists monks passing by in the deepest jungle....truly beautiful!
What a night of many thousands of wildly partying Cambodians armed with massive water guns and talculm powder spraying and dusting everything and everyone in sight...to the tune of about twenty bands all playing at the same time. Riotous fun for young old and all present...no drunks...just amazing humour and fun for the Khmer New Year! Loved it
We are getting ready to travel to Cambodia to search for more beautiful products for Samsara. We are particularly interested in the gorgeous silk scarves handwoven as they have been for centuries. Also the great new products that recycle flour and rice bags to make wallets and bags and turn rubber tyre inner tubes in to wallets. This all helps keep rubbish off the streets and makes beautiful things that help poor communities.
